This project was produced, filmed and edited on my own. Some of the footage was granted to me for use by Shane Windmeyer, and some footage came from Storyblocks.

I had just completed a presentation about the power of archetypes in media, and I had outlined the archetype of the scepegoat. The constant new stories coming out in 2023 about laws against the LGBTQIA+ community was another example in our history of an attempt at scapegoating and dehumanization. 

I wanted to capture this moment in history, and I dedicate this short to Ciara Minaj Frazier, Elise Mallary, and all those who have lost their lives due to their gender expression or their sexuality.

The national organization, Campus Pride, who’s then CEO I interviewed, published a press release for the film.
